Renaissance Costumed Singers and Players
Michael Roy plays the Galician Pipes.
He wears 16th c. Italian Court attire.
The ancient music ensemble shown above is Courtly Sounds,
a professional early music consort.
The members of the consort are wearing European costumes of the Renaissance.
The instruments shown are krummhorn, Celtic harp, tenor and bass viols, and guitar lute.

Michael Roy, in early troubadour attire,
plays the arch lute, or (baroque) theorbo,
also called the chitarrone before the 17th c.

A very rare instrument, the extended bass krummhorn.
Very few prototypes were constructed as the intricate key extensions
made the instrument too costly to make and too expensive to sell.
Michael Roy wears a simple, but colorful Renaissance tunic with large sleeved blouse.
