Costumed Singers

Jan wears her "Dickensian Carolers" costume, achieving
the early-nineteenth century English look. She is the alto
of the carolers vocal ensemble.

Michael, the bass-baritone, joins Jan in the Charles Dickens
look with his top hat and morning jacket with velvet collar.

The Dickensian Carolers
are a mixed quartet of professional singers
who can sing unaccompanied and/or with their pianist, Diane.
Michael Roy, however, brings other instruments: bagpipes,
recorders, krummhorns and guitar. The period instruments give
them the capability of doing seasonal music as far back as
Renaissance/16th century carols. The guitar and piano extend
their idiomatic range through the 19th c. to modern songs. The
carolers have a wide repertoire of both sacred and secular Christmas
songs, Caribbean carols, and old English and other European carols.
